Mr. Thelmer Dempsey, age 85, of Pine Tree, died Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at his home.Mr. Dempsey was born Aug. 7, 1920, in Ethel, the son of Roe Andrew Dempsey and Josie Benson Dempsey. He lived in St. Francis County most of his life, was a farmer, and was a member of the Pine Tree Baptist Church.Mr. Dempsey married Clara Bieber, and she preceded him in death in 1999. He is survived by one son, Wayne Dempsey of Forrest City; one daughter, Juanita Kennedy of Colt; one brother, Elvis Dempsey of St. Charles; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two children, Margaret Garrett and Dorothy Barnes.Visitation for Mr. Dempsey will be Friday, July 14, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at Stevens Funeral Home at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 15, with burial in Forrest Park Cemetery
